That means its time for the latest Rainbow Sash controversy in the Archidiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis.
However, in a positive turn of events, Archbishop Harry Flynn has issued a letter stating sash-wearers should be denied the Eucharist.
Tim Drake has the details, along with a link to a story from the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

so the question is:
to sashay, or not to sashay, up to the altar.
Looks like the answer is clear in the Archdiocese of St Paul and Mpls this year. Deo gratias!

Let's all write Harry Flynn a letter of encouragement, especially since he'll get a lot of flack for this.

We shall see what the Arch has wrought. Undoubtedly, there will be renegade pastors who disobey the clear order, and there will be publicity-seeking homosexuals who disobey the order. What will Archbishop Flynn do? Will he be there at the Cathedral to witness the disruption? Will he speak to these self-appointed usher guardians so they step aside and let the Church manage? Will he reprimand the disobedient pastors?
Its clear that our archbishop got spanked with the Vatican paddle. We should be thankful for that. However, this is not Flynn's policy and it remains to be seen with what vigor he proclaims it. I hope he perceives the scandal any bishop brings down upon his office by reluctantly exerting authority and then standing idly by while that authority is defied.
The letter is a wonderful sign, and even if Flynn sent it reluctantly it cannot be denied that he sent it and did the right thing. Many bishops in this country will publicly dissent. But Flynn's real test will come in the weeks after Pentecost. A shepherd carries a big stick, and at times he must smack the faithful upside the head.
