Man of Our Age

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol has written a nice reflection in remembrance of the Holy Father. Additionally, the Standard has a number of articles on the Pope written by George Weigel that can be accessed here.

Karol Wojtyla, pray for us.

How does a man like this not become completely insufferable? And yet he wasn't. My idea is, prayer. He was influential in those three realms of politics, religion and ideas. But only because he was completely permeated by prayer. And the interior prayer becomes exterior, and no one can help being touched by it.

Makes a person ashamed of all her flimsy excuses for not praying, and not praying well.
