Open Book has a lively discussion about what the USCCB should or should not be doing in this case. It does appear that the Florida bishops have spoken out in defense of Terri. It may be the case that a stay has been issued.

In fairness to the bishops' conference, it has been noted that the statement by the USCCB, "Ethical and Religious Directives for Health Care Services" deals with this issue by making it a matter of conscience for the patient and her family. Whether that applies in the case of Ms. Schiavo is unclear.
